Install and first launch
NP Editor ships as a single Windows installer. It installs for the current user account only and does not need administrator rights. The name shown on screen is Noplatea Editor, shortened to NP Editor.
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 64-bit |
| .NET | No separate install needed. It is bundled with the installer. |
| Minecraft | A vanilla client installed with a launcher must be on this PC. Block textures and models are read from that jar. |
| Graphics | The Game view (F6) and Path tracing (F7) view modes require the Forward+ renderer and compute shaders. |
| Java (optional) | Needed only for Build block list from server jar. Any Java that runs a server will do. |
The Minecraft jar is never copied into the editor folder or your saved files. It is read directly from the jar on this PC at run time and used only in memory.
Installing
Section titled “Installing”- Download the installer
NPEditor_Setup_<version>.exe(e.g.NPEditor_Setup_0.9.11.exe). - If the editor is running, close it first.

First launch
Section titled “First launch”- Click Noplatea Editor in the Start menu or on the desktop.
- The splash screen (the NP cube and “불러오는 중… · Loading…”) appears briefly.
- If the sign-in screen appears, sign in (see “Sign in” below).
- The editor opens with an empty world (Untitled). The mode is Block brush.
- The editor automatically finds the client jar for the target version and loads block textures.
The editor does not automatically reopen the world you had open last time. Open a world with File › Open… (Ctrl+O). Sample worlds are in samples\ in the install folder.
Since 0.9.9: An NP Editor splash screen appears at startup instead of the Godot logo.

Automatic Minecraft jar detection
Section titled “Automatic Minecraft jar detection”At startup, the editor looks for vanilla client jars in the launcher folders on this PC. If the same version exists in several places, the launcher higher in the list wins.
| Order | Launcher | Folder searched |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | CurseForge | %USERPROFILE%\curseforge\minecraft\Install\versions |
| 2 | Official launcher | %APPDATA%\.minecraft\versions |
| 3 | Prism Launcher | %APPDATA%\PrismLauncher\libraries\com\mojang\minecraft |
| 4 | MultiMC | %APPDATA%\MultiMC\libraries\com\mojang\minecraft |
| 5 | TLauncher | %APPDATA%\.tlauncher\legacy\Minecraft\game\versions |
| 6 | Modrinth App | %APPDATA%\ModrinthApp\meta\versions · %APPDATA%\com.modrinth.theseus\meta\versions |
| 7 | Official launcher (home) | %USERPROFILE%\.minecraft\versions |
| 8 | Manually chosen jar | The file chosen with File › Load jar… |
- Only vanilla version folders are used. Mod loader folders such as Forge, NeoForge, Fabric, Quilt and OptiFine are skipped.
- If no jar is found, a “Minecraft
client jar not found” notice appears. Run that version once in the launcher and restart the editor, or pick the jar yourself with File › Load jar…. - If you installed a new version with the launcher, click File › Rescan launcher folder (version list).
Choosing the target version
Section titled “Choosing the target version”Choose the Minecraft version to build the map for in the Target version dropdown at the right end of the menu bar. The default is 1.21.11.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| List | Vanilla versions found on this PC. Each row shows “version · launcher name”, and no jar is appended if the jar is missing. |
| list available | The block list (server report) for that version has already been built. |
| When you choose one | Textures switch to that version’s jar, and the block list and export checks follow that version. |
| Saving | Same value as Target version in the project settings. Saved in the world file. |
If there is no block list (server report), build one with File › Build block list from server jar… (target version). When you choose a server jar, a data report is generated with Java. It takes tens of seconds and you only need to do it once per version. For details, see Minecraft versions.
Saving and autosave
Section titled “Saving and autosave”| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| World file | .npworld. File › Save (Ctrl+S) · File › Save As… (Ctrl+Shift+S) |
| Project folder | The folder containing the world file. The custom block and model registry (assets\), export output (export\) and screenshots (shots\) are created here. |
| Safe saving | Writes to a temporary file first and then swaps it in. The previous file is kept as .bak. |
| Recovery | If the editor closed during a save, the next time you open that world it is recovered from the leftover .tmp or .bak. |
| Autosave | If anything changed, saves in the background every 120 seconds. The original file is not touched. |
| Autosave location | %APPDATA%\NPEditor\autosave\<name>_<path hash>.npworld (untitled.npworld for an untitled world) |
| Number kept | When there are more than 10, the oldest are deleted first. |
| Loading an autosave | File › Load autosave opens the newest autosave file. After opening it, save it with Save As. |
| On quit | If there are unsaved changes, you are asked Save and quit · Quit without saving · Cancel. Even if you quit without saving, the changes remain in the autosave file. |
Change the autosave interval and number kept under Autosave in Settings.

Section titled “Updating to a new version”- Close the editor.
